A few weeks ago we had a surprise visit from an old acquaintance. She brought with her a pair of earrings, bought from us in 2016 by a friend of hers. The earrings, much loved and regularly worn, had been dropped and damaged. The hope was that we could restore them.
We contacted the customer, who is now living in Cannes, assuring her that we would repair them. The earrings symbolized more than an accessory: they were a thread linking her present life in France back to her roots in South Africa. She was delighted, particularly when we told her that the work would be done by the original artist.
We love moments like these - developing the relationships formed through our jewellery. They allow us to keep the personal connection we strive to maintain with each piece and its owner.
